Klemen Pisk

Klemen Pisk, born in 1973, in Kranj, is a writer, translator and musician. He published poetry collections Labas vakaras (1998), Visoko in nagubano prapočelo (Tall and Wrinkled First Cause, 2000), and Mojster v spovednici (Master in the Confessional, 2002). His collected verses have been translated into the Polish (Tych kilka słów, 2005) and Slovakian languages (Pustovník a vlk, 2009). He authored several radio plays (Lahko noč, Matija Čop – Goodnight, Matija Čop, 1998), a book of literary criticism (Stihi pod nadzorom – Verses under Control, 2004) and a short story book (Pihalec –The Blower, 2007). His short story Džizo (Džizas) was translated into the Lithuanian language by Laima Masytė and appeared in the anthology of Slovenian short prose Auksas kišenėje (Gold in the Pocket, Lithuanian Writers Union Publishers, 2009). Pisk translates from the Polish and Lithuanian languages (John Paul II, T. Tryzna, J. Pilch, S. Parulskis, K. Boruta, L. S. Černiauskaitė, V. Žilinskaitė). He prepared a comprehensive collection of poetry by Czeslaw Milosz Zvonovi pozimi (Bells in Winter, 2008). As a singer, guitarist and author of many songs for the Žabjak Trio he released two CDs: Doktor piska počasni sving (The Doctor is Whistling a Slow Swing, 2001) and Aristokrat (Aristocrat, 2004). Form 2006 to 2009 he lived in Vilnius.
