You are invited to the presentation of the new novel of Iztok Osojnik Swines Fly to the Sky, which is going to be held on Wednesday, 4th of April, at 6 p.m. in Infopeka - Pekarna, Maribor.
At 7 p.m. the author shall read his poems at WordSMITHing/KOVAČija besed in Gustaf Hall.

Iztok Osojnik, born 1951, is an anthropologist, literary comparativist, philosopher, poet, painter, writer, essayist, translator, climber, tourist guide and traveler. An initiator of many artistic movements, cofounder of anarchistic podrealistic movement, Garbage Art (Kjoto), and musical projects Papa Kinjal Band, Hidrogizme, and other important artistic institutions or festival (Galerija Equrna, Trnovski terceti, Discussions in Villa Herberstein, Vilenica, Review within Review, The Golden Boat, and others). In 1977 graduated from comparative literature at University in Ljubljana. Postgradual studies in Osaka,  Japan. In 2011 PhD from historical anthropology at University of Primorska. He published 27 author books of poetry, recently ***Asterisk (2011) and  Poročena na rdeče (2012), four novels and two collections of essays. A head of Vermont Collegea Summer Residency in Slovenia, The Golden Boat International Poetry Translation Workshop, and many other programs. His books and work have been published in more than 25 languages. His work was awarded many times in Slovenia and abroad, recently KONS International Award  (2011), and nomination for Jenko Prize 2011. He lives and works in Ljubljana.
