Maciej Melecki

Maciej Melecki was born in 1969. He is an author of three poetry chap books: Zachodzenie za siebie (Coming down through oneself, 1993), Dalsze zajścia (Next happens, 1998), Panoramix (2001), Opuszczone strony (Left places, 2008), and poetry books: Te sprawy (These Matters, 1995), Niebezpiecznie blisko (Dangerously close 1996), Zimni ogrodnicy (Mid-May Cold Spell, 1999), Przypadki in odmiany (Cases and Variants 2001), Bermudzkie historie (Bermuden tales, 2005), Przester (Oversteerinng, 2009), Zawsze wszędzie indziej – wybór wierszy 1995–2005 (Always everywhere else – selected poems 1995–2005; 2008), Szereg zerwań (A String of Severances 2011). He published poems in most important literature magazines in Poland and poetry anthologies: Inny świt (Other sunshine, 1994), Macie swoich poetów (Here you are yours poets, 1996, 1997), Długie pożegnanie (Long goodbye, 1997), Antologia współczesnej poezji polskiej (Anthology of modern Polish poetry, 2000), 14.44 (2000), Martwe punkty (Altered state, 2003). 

He is a co-author of film screenplays: Wojaczek (1997), Outsider (2000), Day of a Liar (2000), Altered State: New Polish Poetry (ARC PUBLICATIONS, UK, 2003), Vingt - quatre poètes polonais (Traduits par Georges Lisowski, Editions du Murmure, France, 2003). His poems were translated into English, Spanish, Slovenian, German, Serbian, Slovak, and Czech language. He studied Polish philology on the Silesian University in Katowice. He is a member of Polish Writers Society. He is a director of Mikołów Institute (Instytut Mikołowski). He lives in Mikołów.
