Festival name refers to one of the most important Slovenian artists of the twentieth century – the poet Srečko Kosovel (1904-1926) – The Golden Boat is in fact the title of a volume of his poems, which, due to the premature death, the author didn't have time to publish. Kosovel’s poems (the konses and integrals), following the avant-garde trends in art, such as constructivism, dadaism, futurism or surrealism, had a significant impact on contemporary Slovenian art. They appeal to humanity once again become a value and is still gaining on the news.

A sustainable Polish-Slovenian cooperation in the field of culture resulted in two releases of Slovenian poetry in a Polish translation this year. In relatively large selections, Polish readers will have opportunity to meet with the work of two outstanding Slovenian poets: classic Srečko Kosovel in a bilingual selected poems “Kalejdoskop. Izbrane pesmi / Selected Poems” (translated by Karolina Bucka Kustec; KUD Police Dubova & Instytut Mikolowski, 2012) and contemporary author Iztok Osojnik in book of poetry “Pants in the Sky” (translated by Marcin Warmuz, Instytut Mikolowski, 2012). These publications will be presented at the festival.

In the festival Slovenian artists shall present their work: a poet and writer Alenka Jensterle Doležal, a songwriter Jani Kovačič, a poet and essayist Iztok Osojnik and a translator and writer Tatjana Jamnik. They will appear in the company of their Polish colleagues: Bożena Tokarz, Karolina Bucka Kustec, Marcin Warmuz, Monika Gawlak, Katarzyna Bednarska, Maciej Melecki, Agnieszka Będkowska-Kopczyk, and others.
